A place where people can come and escape the cold winters, a place where you can slow down - just for a minute - and catch your breath. In the 1950s and '60s Chandler was pretty much a laid-back 'Ozzie and Harriet' kind of place, but a funny thing happened in the 1970s. Chandler and the City's image moved from sleepy agricultural community to high-tech oasis - we actually use that line sometimes, "High Tech Oasis of the Silicon Desert." Don't let that fool ya though, you can still drive down the road and find sheep, cattle and horses grazing in pastures and you may get behind a tractor on your way to work. There are family parks, water parks, and dog parks! We have a vast Retirement Community called Sun Lakes and we were voted in the top 100 Communities for young people to live. When you come to visit don't be surprised if you find you want to move here.....happens all the time!
